2027 Election: Kwankwaso Supporters Propose Obi-Kwankwaso Presidential Ticket

A political support group aligned with former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso has proposed a joint presidential ticket pairing him with former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi for the 2027 election.

The Kwankwaso Support Group 2027 made the announcement in Kano on Friday, with its leader, Abba Gwale, stating that an alliance between the two politicians would create a powerful coalition capable of challenging the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Gwale described the proposed ticket as an opportunity to “rescue the nation” from current challenges, citing widespread discontent over insecurity, hunger, and economic hardship.

“We want a political alliance to bring together Obi’s strong support base in the South and Kwankwaso’s formidable support in the North,” Gwale said. “With this partnership, the duo is poised to give the ruling party a run for their money.”

He added that both leaders have emphasized commitment to improving the lives of ordinary Nigerians and that their combined appeal could reshape the country’s political landscape.

Responding to speculation about Kwankwaso’s potential demands should he join the APC, Gwale stated that any such requests would be justified given Kwankwaso’s political stature and nationwide support.

The proposal signals early coalition-building efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections and reflects growing discussions among opposition figures about forming a united front against the APC.
