Heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk has extended condolences and support to former opponent Anthony Joshua following a fatal car accident in Nigeria.
The crash, which occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, resulted in the deaths of two of Joshua's close associates. Joshua sustained minor injuries.
Usyk, who recently visited Nigeria, shared a heartfelt message on Instagram expressing his sorrow. "This is an unbelievable loss. Sina and Latz were two incredible people who were not only part of AJ’s team, but also friends," he wrote.
The Ukrainian champion offered his "sincere condolences" to the families of the deceased and directly addressed Joshua, saying: "Anthony Joshua, wishing you a speedy recovery. Stay strong, champion."
