Jerry Ekpekuro, a renowned Urhobo gospel musician and evangelist, has reportedly been kidnapped by gunmen in Delta State, just two days before Christmas.
The musician, popular for his unique gospel music across the Niger Delta region, was taken on Monday. Details surrounding the abduction are still unclear, and it is not yet known if his family has been contacted by the kidnappers.
This marks the second time Ekpekuro has been a target of kidnapping. In December 2020, he was abducted on the Osubi-Eku road in Okpe Local Government Area. Following that incident, his captors initially demanded a ₦50 million ransom before securing his release for ₦15 million.
Residents and fans have taken to social media to call on security agencies for swift action to ensure his safe return.
