President Tinubu Extends Sympathy to Boxer Anthony Joshua Following Tragic Highway Accident

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has publicly expressed his condolences to Nigerian boxer Anthony Joshua, who was involved in a serious accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway that resulted in two fatalities.

The accident occurred near the Danco filling station in Makun, where a vehicle transporting the former world champion reportedly collided with a stationary truck. Early reports indicated Joshua sustained injuries in the crash.

Responding to the news, President Tinubu took to social media to address Joshua directly. In a message posted on his official account, the President wrote, "AJ, I extend my deep sympathies to you following the tragic accident on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, which claimed two precious lives and caused you injuries."

Tinubu described the incident as an "immense tragedy" casting a "deep shadow on this season." He offered sympathy to Joshua and his family, acknowledging the emotional weight of the event.
