Alleged Daughter of Davido Publicly Requests DNA Test to "Establish Identity"

A teenager identifying herself as Anuoluwa Adeleke has publicly appealed to Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, to take a DNA test to confirm if he is her biological father, citing years of emotional distress and a need to establish her identity as she enters her teenage years.

In a lengthy Instagram post on Wednesday, the young girl detailed a childhood marked by bullying and psychological turmoil after being told the famous singer is her father—a claim that has circulated online for several years but has never been formally addressed by Davido or his representatives.

“Today I drafted a letter I wrote from the depth of my heart not with help from my relatives. As I grow older I want to establish my identity,” Anuoluwa wrote. “I was bullied in school since I was 6-years-old and cried home daily. Other students laughed at me when I told them my father was Mr David Adeleke.”

She explained that the experience led her to seek professional mental health support and described the situation as a “sad challenging time” in her life.

A Respectful but Firm Appeal

Despite the difficulties, Anuoluwa noted she excelled academically, becoming a class prefect and continuing to perform well in secondary school. Now, as she approaches her teenage years, she is making a direct, public request to the singer.

“On that note as I transition into a young woman, I am respectfully asking Mr David Adeleke Singer @davido for a DNA test to establish my identity,” she stated. “This test is between my dad and I. It is something I want. It is something that's the right thing to do.”

She added that she also sent the request via direct message to Davido’s Instagram account.

Background of the Long-Running Claim

The assertion that Davido fathered a child outside of his publicly recognized family—which includes his wife, Chioma, and their children—has been a topic of speculation and online debate for nearly a decade. Previous social media posts from accounts linked to the girl’s mother have surfaced over the years, but neither Davido nor his management has ever publicly acknowledged or denied the claim.

Anuoluwa’s post marks the first time the individual at the center of the allegation has spoken out in her own words, framing the request not as a public spectacle, but as a personal necessity for closure and identity.

Public Reaction and Awaiting Response

The post has quickly garnered significant attention online, with many social media users expressing sympathy for the teenager and calling for a resolution. Others have urged caution and respect for the privacy of all parties involved, especially given the minor’s age.

As of now, Davido has not publicly responded to the request. The appeal places the multi-award-winning singer in a delicate position, balancing his family’s privacy with a serious, emotionally charged request from a young girl seeking answers about her paternity.

The public now waits to see whether this heartfelt appeal will lead to the long-requested DNA test—and potentially, closure to a years-old chapter in Nigerian pop culture folklore.
