Following Nigeria’s victory over Algeria in the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals, billionaire industrialist and founder of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, has announced a major cash incentive for the Super Eagles as they advance to the semi-finals.
In a post on social media, Rabiu praised the team for lifting the nation’s spirit and pledged significant financial rewards based on their performance in the next stages of the tournament.
He committed $500,000 to the players if they win their semi-final match, with an additional $50,000 for every goal scored in that game. Should Nigeria go on to win the AFCON final, Rabiu further pledged $1,000,000 plus $100,000 for each goal scored in the final.
“Congratulations to our Super Eagles players on a brilliant victory against Algeria. You have lifted the spirit of the nation, and we proudly cheer you on as you prepare for the semi-finals,” Rabiu stated.
The announcement has been met with widespread enthusiasm from football fans, with many describing it as a major morale boost for the team. With high stakes and added motivation, the Super Eagles will carry the hopes of millions into their upcoming match as they continue their quest for a fourth continental title.
