Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, father of Afrobeats star Davido, has publicly addressed the long-running paternity claims involving a teenager named Anu. He states that scientific evidence definitively clears his son, alleging that recent social media accusations are fueled by impersonation.
The controversy resurfaced when Anu appealed online for a new DNA test. Davido previously responded by stating he had undergone five tests over the years—three at his own initiative and two at facilities chosen by the other party—all with negative results.
Providing a detailed account, Dr. Adeleke explained the family first engaged with the matter in 2014 after receiving a formal letter. He immediately arranged a DNA test at a reputable hospital, with samples from Davido, his cousin B-Red, and the child sent abroad for analysis. That initial result showed a 0.00% probability of paternity.
Despite this, Dr. Adeleke offered to fund additional confirmatory tests, including covering accommodation for the child’s family. These follow-ups were not completed. He revealed that the child’s aunt from Abuja recently contacted him to distance the family from the latest social media posts, claiming the accounts were impersonated and that they had cut ties with those responsible.
Dr. Adeleke further alleged that journalist Kemi Olunloyo was behind the impersonated pages. He asserts he possesses documented evidence of all DNA tests and message exchanges supporting his claims.
The businessman emphasized that the family has always relied on scientific evidence and acted responsibly, stating they would have accepted the child if paternity had been proven. He concluded by warning that the continued spread of what he calls false claims and impersonation could lead to legal action, seeking final closure on an issue he considers scientifically settled.
