Eko Electricity Distribution Company Appoints Wola Joseph-Condotti as Interim CEO

The Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) has announced the appointment of Mrs. Wola Joseph-Condotti as its Interim Chief Executive Officer, following the departure of former CEO, Rekhiat Momoh.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the power distribution company (DisCo) said Joseph-Condotti’s appointment takes immediate effect and reflects the board’s confidence in her leadership ability, institutional knowledge, and commitment to operational continuity.

The change in leadership is part of a broader transition following the takeover of the board by Transgrid Enerco. The previous board, led by Chairman Dere Otubu, has resigned, making way for a new board chaired by Engr. (Dr.) Olubunmi Peters. Other members include Prof. George Nwangwu, Faruk Aliyu, Kolapo Joseph, Rasheed Olaoluwa, and Ayo Gbeleyi, who will continue representing the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE).

Background of the New CEO

Wola Joseph-Condotti brings a wealth of experience within the EKEDC system. Prior to this interim role, she served as Group Managing Director and CEO of West Power & Gas Limited, the former parent company of EKEDC. She also previously held key positions within EKEDC, including Pioneer Chief, Legal and Company Secretariat, and later as Head of Regulatory Compliance and Chief Human Resources and Administration Officer.

Joseph-Condotti holds a law degree from the University of Ibadan, a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Harvard Law School, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from INSEAD Business School.

The company acknowledged the contributions of outgoing CEO Rekhiat Momoh, whose tenure was noted for improvements in service delivery and operational development across EKEDC's franchise areas.

This leadership transition aims to ensure stability and continued progress as EKEDC navigates the evolving Nigerian electricity sector under its new ownership structure.
