Exiled Prince Reza Pahlavi Thanks U.S. for Support, Vows a New Path for Iran

Amid ongoing widespread protests in Iran, Reza Pahlavi, the exiled former Crown Prince, has expressed gratitude to U.S. President Donald Trump for his vocal support of the Iranian people, framing the unrest as a popular struggle to end decades of repression.

In a social media post, Pahlavi thanked Trump for his “strong leadership” and said the U.S. stance has given protesters “greater strength and hope” as they risk their lives to oppose the government. He pledged to work toward rebuilding the historic U.S.-Iran relationship to foster regional peace and prosperity, claiming to have “the plan for a stable transition” with the backing of the Iranian people.

U.S. Warning and Iranian Backlash

The message follows a public warning from President Trump, who stated the U.S. is “locked and loaded” and would respond if Iranian authorities violently crack down on peaceful demonstrators. The protests, driven by economic hardship and rising prices, have reportedly led to clashes between civilians and security forces in several provinces.

Iranian officials have sharply rejected what they call foreign interference. A top advisor to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei warned that Iran’s national security is a “red line” and threatened a “regrettable response” to any external intervention, criticizing past U.S. military actions in the region.

The exchange highlights how Iran’s internal crisis is increasingly drawing in international voices, with exiled opposition figures seeking to frame the protests as a pivotal moment for the country’s future.
