Former Chelsea Winger Victor Moses Resumes Career with Move to Kazakhstan

Veteran Nigerian winger Victor Moses has ended a seven-month spell without a club by signing for FC Kaysar Kyzylorda in the Kazakhstan Premier League.

The 35-year-old former Chelsea and Super Eagles star joins on a free transfer, signing a one-year contract with the club, which is preparing for a new season set to begin in March.

New Chapter for a Well-Travelled Career

Moses was officially unveiled to supporters at the club’s 7,500-capacity stadium and will wear his familiar number 11 shirt. He becomes just the third foreign player in a squad that has often battled against relegation.

In a statement on social media, FC Kaysar welcomed the “experienced” addition, framing the signing as a statement of ambition. “Victor Moses is a football player with a high level of experience, having played for a number of European giants. His joining Kaisar is clear proof of the team’s goals for the upcoming season,” the club noted, adding that his presence is expected to positively influence both performance and the development of younger players.

Seeking Stability After Recent Uncertainty

Moses has been without a team since May 2025, following Luton Town’s relegation to England’s third tier. This move to Central Asia marks his second free transfer since departing Russian side Spartak Moscow, where he spent three seasons after his notable tenure at Chelsea.

Throughout a decorated career spanning England, Russia, Turkey, and now Kazakhstan, Moses has made 495 senior appearances, contributing 62 goals and 47 assists. His signing offers a fresh start for both the player and a club hoping his pedigree can help steer them to a more stable season.
