Former Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta to unite and mobilize support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Okowa made the call on Monday during a party stakeholders' meeting in Agbor, Ika Local Government Area, convened to discuss the ongoing electronic membership registration drive. The gathering also featured APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.
Addressing party leaders, Okowa emphasized that Delta State must set a strong example in delivering votes for the ruling party. “Delta state is a model,” he stated. “Our governor was the first to align openly and decisively with Mr President, and because of that, the eyes of the nation are upon us. The results from Delta will speak loudly across Nigeria.”
He expressed confidence that with unity, the APC could dominate politics across all 26 wards of the Ika federal constituency, which comprises Ika South and Ika North East Local Government Areas—regions he noted have historically produced strong electoral results.
Okowa warned against internal divisions, stating that disunity weakens the party and jeopardizes electoral success. He stressed that victory in 2027 would depend on discipline, cohesion, and collective effort at all levels.
Registration Deadline and Congress Plans
Felix Morka announced that January 31, 2026, is the deadline for the APC’s electronic membership registration. He cautioned that members who fail to register will be excluded from party recognition and participation in upcoming ward, local government, state, and national congresses.
“You cannot vote. You cannot be voted for. This process is simple, guided, and urgent,” Morka stated, underscoring that registration is the mandatory gateway to involvement in the party’s internal elections and activities.
He urged leaders to return to their communities with a focused mission to mobilize and register members, strengthening the APC from the grassroots upward.
The meeting signals early but organized efforts by the APC to consolidate its structure in Delta State, a region with significant political influence, as the countdown to the 2027 elections begins.
