A tragic and unexplained incident has left an Ogale community in Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State in shock after an entire family was discovered dead inside their home on Sunday, January 11, 2026.
The deceased have been identified as Mr. Obele Theophilus, his wife, their children, and a brother-in-law. According to local reports, the family went to bed on Saturday night but did not wake up the next morning.
Concerned neighbors grew alarmed when the house remained locked and silent well into Sunday morning. After repeated attempts to reach the family failed, residents forced the door open around 10:00 a.m.
Inside, they found Mr. Theophilus and the children lifeless on a bed. The wife's body was discovered in the bathroom, while the brother-in-law was found near the entrance, suggesting he may have tried to open the door before collapsing.
The cause of death remains unknown, and authorities have yet to issue an official statement. Police are expected to launch an investigation to determine what led to the mysterious deaths of all six family members.
