The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a suspect as part of its investigation into the sudden death of 22-year-old Fuji singer, Destiny Boy (real name Adesina Afeez).
News of the singer’s passing spread widely on social media on Sunday. His mother, Saidat Adeshina, later stated that he died after battling a severe medical condition and had suffered from seizures for the past two years.
In a statement issued on Monday, the police confirmed that an investigation is underway and that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Homicide Section, for detailed inquiry.
"The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Homicide Section, for detailed investigation. One suspect is currently in custody while investigations are ongoing," the statement read.
The police have not yet disclosed the identity of the suspect or their relationship to the late artist.
