Motunrayo Kuti, daughter of the late Afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo Kuti, has responded publicly to the recent dispute between her brother, Seun Kuti, and global star Wizkid.
The disagreement originated from a social media exchange concerning the shared nickname “Big Bird.” Wizkid’s subsequent assertion that he is “bigger than your papa” – a reference to Fela – prompted a strong reaction from the Kuti family.
In a video statement, Motunrayo Kuti challenged Wizkid’s comment, questioning its basis by drawing a parallel to the singer's own father. She defended her family's legacy, stating that Fela’s stature remains greater than that of Wizkid's parents.
