A community in the Western Region of Ghana has been left in shock following a fatal altercation in the fishing area of Takinta, Jomoro Municipality. Reports indicate that a local man, Cosmos Ndah, was killed by his neighbour, Nya Meah, while attempting to persuade him not to take his own life.
According to local sources, Meah had expressed intentions to end his life, stating he was “fed up with life.” Upon hearing this, Cosmos Ndah went to Meah’s home to intervene and discourage him from suicide. The situation, however, turned violent when a confrontation broke out, leading Meah to allegedly attack Ndah with a machete.
Police have since arrested Nya Meah and have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. The community remains deeply unsettled by the tragic event.
