British-Nigerian heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua has paid a deeply personal tribute to two close friends who lost their lives in a devastating car crash in Ogun State last December, inking their names onto his skin in a quiet, unannounced visit to a London tattoo studio.
Fulham Tattoo shared images of the new tattoos on Thursday, revealing that the two-time world champion walked through their doors unexpectedly weeks ago for his first-ever visit to the studio.
'What a Walk In'
"Huge thank you to two-time heavyweight champion of the world Anthony Joshua for unexpectedly and unannounced walking through the door a few weeks ago for his first visit with us at Fulham Tattoo London … what a walk in," the studio captioned the post.
The tattoos bear the names of Sina Ghami and Latif 'Latz' Ayodele—his strength and conditioning coach and longtime trainer, respectively—both of whom died in the December 29, 2025 crash along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Joshua was also inside the Lexus Jeep when it collided with a stationary truck. He survived, was hospitalised, and later discharged before returning to the United Kingdom.
Grief Etched in Ink
The boxer subsequently attended the funerals of both men, and the new tattoos now serve as a permanent memorial to the two members of his inner circle whose lives were cut short.
Ghami and Ayodele were key figures in Joshua's training camp, and their deaths sent shockwaves through the boxing community, drawing tributes from fans and athletes across Nigeria and abroad.
The decision to immortalise their names on his skin—without prior appointment, without publicity—speaks to a grief carried quietly, now made visible.
For Joshua, the ink is more than tribute. It is testimony: he carries them still, into every ring, every fight, every step forward.
