Joint Security Forces Foil Bandit Attack in Kebbi, Neutralize Suspect

Security operatives in Kebbi State have repelled an attack by suspected bandits in Bunza Local Government Area, killing one assailant during the operation.

According to a statement by the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bashir Usman, the bandits, identified as Lakurawa criminals, invaded Tungan Babu Lada village, where they shot and killed a 35-year-old man, Usman Ferungu, and rustled cattle.

A joint team comprising the police, military, and other security agencies swiftly responded, pursuing the fleeing suspects to Garin Mayo Mine. A gun battle ensued, resulting in the neutralization of one bandit. Four motorcycles used by the attackers were recovered.

The police stated that the operation successfully disrupted the gang’s activities, prevented further violence, and averted additional loss of life. The command reiterated its commitment to proactive patrols and intelligence-driven operations across Kebbi State, urging residents to provide timely information to support security efforts.
