A 46-year-old man has been arrested in Madrid on allegations of sexually abusing his seven-year-old daughter and livestreaming the assaults to viewers who paid him in cryptocurrency.
According to Spain's National Police, the investigation began in November 2025 after an anonymous tip was received via a dedicated email service for reporting child sexual abuse material. A nearly four-month probe revealed that the suspect allegedly used a private livestreaming application to attract an audience, initially posting photos of himself lying on a bed with his daughter.
Police stated that the man would then connect with paying viewers through an external messaging app and broadcast the abuse in exchange for cryptocurrency. The digital currency could reportedly be exchanged for online gifts or used to boost his visibility on the platform.
Officers identified and located the suspect in the Tetuán neighborhood of Madrid. Upon arrest, two mobile phones containing a significant amount of alleged child sexual exploitation material were seized from his home.
The man has been charged with corruption of a minor, including the production, possession, and distribution of child sexual abuse material, as well as sexual assault. Following a court appearance, he has been remanded in prison.
Authorities noted that the specific streaming application used in the alleged crimes had not been previously encountered by police prior to this investigation.
