The Adamawa State Government has announced the cancellation of all planned "Cross Over Night" celebrations at the Unity Fly-Over in Jimeta, Yola, scheduled for December 31st.
In an official statement released on Wednesday, Chief Press Secretary Mr. Humwashi Wonosikou cited safety and security as the primary reasons for the decision.
“The safety and security of citizens remain our top priority,” the statement read. It further noted that the government will continue collaborating with security agencies to maintain peace and stability within the state.
Authorities are urging residents, particularly those in Yola North and Yola South Local Government Areas, to avoid crowded areas and remain vigilant. The public is advised to report any suspicious activities to security forces.
The government has promised to provide further updates as necessary.
