Cubana Chief Priest Pledges ₦1.5 Billion to Boost South-East Music Talent

Nigerian celebrity businessman Cubana Chief Priest (CP) has announced a major initiative to support emerging music artists from the South-East region, committing ₦1.5 billion for the year 2026.

The socialite made the declaration on his verified Instagram page, explaining that his involvement in music promotion during 2025 yielded impressive results and personal fulfillment. He described the new financial commitment as a continuation of this effort, noting the budget could be increased if needed.

A Unique Support Model

Cubana Chief Priest clarified that his initiative is not a traditional record label. Instead, he plans to freely invest in artists he believes in, without binding contracts or demands for loyalty. He attributed his confidence to personal faith rather than expectations of return from the beneficiaries.

He highlighted how a lack of funding and disputes within the industry often cut careers short and deter investors. His approach aims to circumvent these barriers by providing direct financial support for production, promotion, and collaborations.

According to CP, the plan includes funding collaborations between established acts and at least ten upcoming artists from the South-East, with the goal of launching a minimum of three into the mainstream. He encouraged artists to stay focused, noting that his team would identify promising talent before offering support.

Cubana Chief Priest expressed optimism that 2026 would be a breakthrough year for the region's artists, pledging to use his resources and influence to elevate them to larger platforms.
