AFCON 2025 FINAL: Senegal Triumphs, Takes Down The Host, Morocco, By 1-0


Senegal's Teranga Lions have won the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title, defeating hosts Morocco 1-0 in a thrilling final. 

The match went into extra time after Senegal's Édouard Mendy saved a last-minute penalty from Morocco's Brahim Diaz. Pape Gueye scored the winning goal in extra time, securing Senegal's second continental crown. 

The victory comes despite Senegal missing key players, including captain Kalidou Koulibaly. The match was marked by drama and tension, including a pitch invasion and objects thrown by Senegal fans, and a clash of heads between players.
