Nollywood actress and fourth baby mama of singer Portable, Ashabi Simple, has publicly broken her silence on why she initiated the controversial arrest of the singer, recounting a series of alleged violent incidents during the festive period.
Portable was recently detained and seen in viral footage crying in handcuffs at a police station. Ashabi Simple has now detailed the events leading to his arrest, accusing him of threatening her and her family with an axe.
In a revealing video, Ashabi explained that Portable confronted her family and allegedly used an axe to intimidate them, demanding their phones. She claimed that in the process, he physically assaulted her brother, leaving his eye swollen and shut.
“He had used the axe and demanded to collect our phones. In the process, he punched my brother’s eye, which has remained closed till now,” she stated.
She further alleged that Portable slapped her sister because she had earlier made a comment he found offensive online.
According to Ashabi, after she attempted to flee the scene, Portable pursued her with the axe. She described a frightening moment when he brought out a pot, poured water from it, and began chanting incantations in a language she did not understand.
The actress emphasized that the repeated threats and violent behavior left her with no choice but to involve law enforcement for her safety and that of her family.
Portable has not yet publicly responded to these specific allegations. The incident adds to the singer’s long history of public controversies and legal issues, further complicating the already tumultuous relationship between the pair.
