Benin City, Edo State – Bishop Gideon Osagie Osazee, founder of the Rollo Life of Christ Brethren Ministry, has been arrested following allegations that he sexually abused two biological sisters while they were minors.
The arrest was executed by officials from the Edo State Ministry of Women Affairs after days of surveillance and a planned operation.
Victims’ Accounts
The two sisters, now 21 and 17, state that the abuse occurred when they were 13 and 17 years old, respectively. The older sister recounted waking up to find the pastor assaulting her.
“I woke up and saw that it was my Pastor. That was how he took advantage of me. He overpowered me,” she said. She alleged that he later conducted a “midnight deliverance service” for her, during which he forced her to swear an oath of secrecy. “He said any man that had sex with me would be stuck inside because he has a monitoring mirror,” she added.
The younger sister separately alleged that she was 13 when Bishop Osazee sexually assaulted her.
Suspect’s Response
When confronted, Bishop Osazee denied any involvement with the younger sister. Regarding the older victim, he claimed their relationship was consensual and that she had told him she was 21 at the time. He stated he had even purchased a ring with the intention of proposing marriage.
Official Action
Authorities have confirmed the arrest and stated that investigations are ongoing. The case highlights continued concerns over sexual exploitation and abuse of minors by persons in positions of trust, particularly within religious settings.
The Ministry of Women Affairs has urged other potential victims to come forward as the probe continues.
