A devastating family tragedy has unfolded in Kadoma, where a 78-year-old man is accused of fatally assaulting his 30-year-old son after being found in a compromising position with his daughter-in-law.
The incident, which occurred on January 6, 2026, began when Kudakwashe Harry returned home and discovered his father, Benjamin Harry, with his 22-year-old wife, Evelyn Mashava. A violent argument ensued, during which Benjamin allegedly struck his son with an iron bar, leading to his death.
Police reports indicate that after the fatal assault, Benjamin sought help from Mashava’s teenage brothers in an attempt to stage the scene as a suicide. However, an investigation quickly uncovered the plot.
Seven people, including Evelyn Mashava, her brothers, and several other adults, have been arrested and remanded in custody in connection with the incident.
Conflicting accounts have since emerged, with some suggesting that other individuals previously involved with Evelyn may have also clashed with Kudakwashe on the same day. A post-mortem examination confirmed that the victim died from severe head injuries consistent with being struck by a heavy object.
The case remains under active investigation.
