Iran's top military official has issued a sharp warning against what he describes as escalating hostile rhetoric from the United States and Israel, vowing that Tehran will not tolerate such threats without responding.
The statement from General Amir Hatami follows recent expressions of support from U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for anti-government protesters in Iran. General Hatami declared that Iran considers such foreign backing a direct threat.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran considers the escalation of hostile rhetoric against the Iranian nation a threat and will not tolerate its continuation without responding," he stated in an interview with the Fars news agency.
The remarks signal a hardening Iranian position amid growing domestic unrest and increasing international scrutiny. Iranian authorities have consistently condemned foreign support for the protests as interference in its internal affairs.
The warning underscores heightened regional tensions as Tehran faces internal challenges and external pressure from long-standing adversaries.
