The Gombe State Government has announced the death of a newly enlisted Nigerian Army trainee, Ibrahim Nazifi, during training at the Nigerian Army Depot in Zaria.
Nazifi, a native of Buba Bani village in Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State, was part of the first batch of recruits from the state undergoing the Nigerian Army Regular Recruit Intake (NA RRI 90).
The confirmation was issued in a statement on Thursday by Yusuf Danbayo, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Security Matters and Intergovernmental Affairs.
Danbayo stated that the recruit passed away after a brief illness at the training facility.
“It is with deep sorrow, humility and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah that I announce the passing of Ibrahim Nazifi, one of our promising recruits undergoing training at the Nigerian Army Depot, Zaria,” the statement read.
He described the loss as deeply felt by the deceased’s family, the Gombe State Government, and the entire state.
The government prayed for divine forgiveness and eternal rest for the deceased.
