A woman whose husband, a mobile police officer, went missing after an attack on his station in Borno State 11 years ago has spoken publicly about her ongoing search for answers.
In an interview with Channels TV, Comfort Joseph revealed that her husband disappeared in 2015 following a bandit attack on his post. Despite reporting him missing, she has received no confirmation of his whereabouts or fate.
“I was asked to keep praying,” Joseph stated, recounting the response from security forces when she sought information. “Not all the personnel returned after that attack. I was told he ran alongside some soldiers, but only one corpse was found. As for my husband, I have not seen him since 2015.”
Her account highlights the unresolved cases of many individuals, including security personnel, who have vanished amid the prolonged insurgency in northern Nigeria, leaving families in a state of indefinite grief and uncertainty.
