Nigerian actress Halima Abubakar has made a public appeal for financial assistance, revealing she has been diagnosed with a brain tumour and is currently homeless after being evicted from her residence.
In an emotional live session, the actress shared that she had exhausted her savings to cover her mother’s N9 million hernia surgery in October 2025. Soon after, she faced eviction and attempted to use funds raised for her medical treatment to pay her rent, but her landlady reportedly refused to accept the payment.
“I have just been evicted from my house. I have been diagnosed with a brain tumour,” Abubakar said. “I have packed all my belongings and I have nowhere to go.”
She directly appealed to several public figures for support, including former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, activist VeryDarkMan, and Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu. The actress expressed frustration that fellow celebrities have not responded to her calls for help.
Abubakar disclosed that she requires approximately N25 million to cover brain tumour surgery, aftercare, and living expenses. She is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Abuja.
“Only a mad person would lie about being sick,” she stated, addressing skepticism about her condition. “I am coming out publicly to seek help because I have asked people around me and received none.”
This is not the first time the actress has sought assistance. In February 2025, she called on the Kogi State government for aid, though she did not specify her health condition at the time. Abubakar had announced her retirement from acting in 2022 due to health concerns.
