North Carolina Mother Found Deceased in Car After One-Week Disappearance

Charlotte, NC — A 31-year-old mother from Charlotte, North Carolina, has been found dead inside her car one week after she went missing. Frezja Matisse Baker disappeared after telling her family she was about an hour away from home.

Baker was last seen on December 4. That evening, she called her brother around 10:30 p.m., stating she was an hour away. It was the final contact her family had with her. According to friends and family, her sudden silence was highly unusual, as she consistently communicated with her young son.

On the morning of December 11, police discovered her body in her gray-blue 2004 Honda Accord, which was parked on the property of an abandoned church. The vehicle matched the description from her missing person case.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has launched a death investigation. While details are limited, friends reported that Baker had been seen with a male acquaintance on the night she vanished, and witnesses described an argument. The cause of death has not been released.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues.
