Tragic Loss of Infant Twins After Immunization Sparks Lagos State Investigation

Lagos, Nigeria – The Lagos State Government has ordered a thorough investigation and postmortem following the tragic deaths of nine-month-old identical twins, Testimony and Timothy Alozie. The infants reportedly died within 24 hours of receiving routine immunizations at a state primary healthcare center.

The incident has drawn widespread attention after the twins' father, Samuel Alozie (known online as Promise Samuel), shared his story on social media. In emotional videos, he recounted taking his healthy sons for their scheduled vaccines on the morning of December 24, 2025.

A Father's Account

According to Alozie, the twins became unusually weak and lethargic shortly after the injections. "They could not eat, they could not play... They were just weak," he stated. Despite following nurse-recommended steps, including giving paracetamol and a cool bath, their condition deteriorated. Both babies died on the morning of December 25.

Alozie emphasized that his sons had been healthy and had received all prior vaccinations without incident. He disputed early suggestions from the health center that a food-borne illness might be to blame, and expressed concern that the nurse who administered the vaccines was unfamiliar.

Official Response

Dr. Ibrahim Mustafa, Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Primary Health Care Board, confirmed the incident and the ongoing investigation. "We sympathize with the parents... It is being investigated by the police and we are also doing our investigation as a state. We are expecting the postmortem findings," he said.

The infants' bodies are currently at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) morgue. Authorities have promised to make the postmortem results public.

Alozie, however, has voiced fears that the investigation could be compromised and has called for independent legal support to ensure transparency and justice for his family.
