Trump Calls Maduro a "Rough Man," Alleges He Killed "Millions" of People

In a recent interview, former U.S. President Donald Trump intensified his criticism of detained Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro, describing him as an exceptionally violent figure responsible for the deaths of millions.

Speaking with Forbes Breaking News, Trump stated, “He was a rough man. He killed millions and millions of people,” and argued that Maduro’s rule had brought devastation to Venezuela and posed a wider regional threat. Trump framed the arrest as a long-overdue action, noting that multiple U.S. administrations had previously identified Maduro as a criminal threat.

The former president also referenced the $25 million bounty placed on Maduro by the Biden administration as evidence of bipartisan concern over his alleged crimes. He suggested Maduro had options to avoid prosecution but chose confrontation instead.

Trump claimed the arrest has been met with celebration in some U.S. communities, particularly those with Latin American and Caribbean populations, which he viewed as a sign of widespread desire for justice. He expressed confidence in the U.S. judicial system’s ability to handle the upcoming trial.

The remarks reinforce Trump’s focus on narratives of strongman accountability and assertive foreign policy.
