13-Year-Old Arrested After Stabbing Two Students at London School

London, UK – A 13-year-old suspect has been arrested after two boys were stabbed at Kingsbury High School in northwest London on Tuesday. The victims, aged 12 and 13, were taken to a hospital in serious condition.

According to the Metropolitan Police, the teenage suspect fled the scene but was apprehended hours later. The suspected weapon has been recovered. The suspect is being held on suspicion of attempted murder.

Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams stated that due to the nature of the incident, counter-terrorism officers have taken over the investigation, though it has not yet been declared a terrorist incident. Police confirmed they are not seeking any other suspects.

Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson said she was "heartbroken" by the attack and that the government was in contact with the school to offer support.

The stabbing occurred around midday. Students were still being interviewed by police several hours after the school day ended.

Headteacher Alex Thomas described the event as “a deeply traumatic event for the whole school community” in a letter to parents. Parts of the school will remain closed on Wednesday.

This incident adds to growing concerns over youth violence in UK schools. Last week, a 15-year-old in Wales was charged with the attempted murder of a teacher in a separate knife attack.
