Anambra First Lady Calls for Holistic Health Focus in New Public Campaign

The wife of Anambra State Governor, Dr. Nonye Soludo, has urged residents—particularly women and mothers—to prioritize their physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing, describing good health as the foundation of a productive life.

In a press statement issued on Monday as part of her monthly health outreach, Soludo stressed the importance of a holistic approach to wellness to help prevent lifestyle-related diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, and obesity.

“Prioritise your health, well-being, and fitness. A healthy body is the foundation of a productive life—health is the ‘greatest wealth,’” she stated.

The governor’s wife, who founded the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo initiative, outlined key aspects of her health advocacy, which includes regular exercise, balanced nutrition, routine medical check-ups, and sufficient rest. She also encouraged the use of natural foods, backyard gardening, and reduced consumption of processed items.

Soludo further highlighted the role of mothers, urging them to carve out “me-time” to better care for their families. Her recommendations also emphasized exclusive breastfeeding, child immunization, and the use of insecticide-treated nets to prevent malaria.

This recent message continues her ongoing wellness campaigns. In November 2025, she led a “Healthy Living Walk” across Anambra communities to raise awareness on physical fitness and healthy eating as preventive measures against diseases.
