Antivenom Was Administered on Late Singer Ifunanya Nwangene, According to Colleague Present At The Hospital

Following the unfortunate passing of Singer, Ifunanya Nwangene, from snakebite complications, a colleague of hers known as Vincent Udekwe has come out to reveal that Nanya, as she was popularly called, actual got treated with antivenom.

According to Udekwe who spoke during an interview session with reporters, he was present at the hospital and witnessed the treatment being administered to Nanaya after the snakebite.

He stated that upon his arrival at the hospital, the medical staff were already administering antivenom and intravenous drips. Despite these efforts, he observed her struggling severely to breathe.

“The antivenom was being administered to her by the time I walked in. But I could see her struggling, grasping for breath and all that,” Udekwe recounted.

He remained by her side, holding her hand as doctors provided oxygen and called for additional doses of antivenom as a precaution. Unfortunately, their efforts were unsuccessful, and Ifunanya did not survive.

The incident has drawn attention to the risks of snake encounters in residential areas and the accessibility of emergency medical care.

It would be recalled that the former The Voice Nigeria contestant Ifunanya Nwangene died after being bitten by a snake inside her room in the Lugbe area of Abuja. The 26-year-old singer, known for her blend of jazz, opera, and soul, passed away despite receiving urgent medical treatment.
