Popular TV host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu has celebrated a decade of marriage with a romantic surprise, re-proposing to his wife, Cynthia, at the Vatican City in Rome.
The couple marked their 10th wedding anniversary on February 6 with a visit to St. Peter’s Basilica for mass, after which Ebuka got down on one knee in a surprise renewal of his marriage proposal. Passersby cheered as he presented a new ring to his wife.
In an Instagram post, Ebuka shared photos and videos of the heartfelt moment, revealing they also received an official 10th-anniversary certificate from Pope Leo XIV.
“Exactly 10 years married on Feb. 6, and we spent the most amazing day in Rome and Vatican City,” he wrote. “Someone got a surprise re-proposal on holy grounds... we attended mass at St. Peter’s Basilica and got a 10th anniversary certificate from the Pope.”
The couple first met on Twitter before marrying in 2016 after a year of dating. They are now parents to two children.
The re-proposal was organized with the help of Akano Diamonds, whom Ebuka thanked for assisting with the “secret project.” The anniversary celebration concluded with a special dinner at their favorite restaurant in Rome.
