The Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE) will graduate 7,396 students during its 10th convocation ceremony, with 131 achieving First Class honours.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Abayomi Fasina announced the figures at a pre-convocation press conference in Oye Ekiti on Monday. According to the breakdown, 2,519 students graduated with Second Class Upper division, 3,777 with Second Class Lower, 966 with Third Class, and three with a Pass.
The overall best graduating student is Adeniyi Maryam Adedolapo from the Department of Medical Science (Anatomy), who finished with a CGPA of 4.89.
Prof. Fasina highlighted the university’s recent recognition as the fourth most subscribed public university in Nigeria based on JAMB application statistics. FUOYE also ranked fourth nationally in the latest Times Higher Education 2026 rankings.
Under Fasina’s five-year tenure, which concludes this month, the university expanded from 8 to 18 faculties and increased its academic programmes from 73 to 91. More than 160 infrastructural projects were completed across both campuses during this period.
The convocation ceremony will be held on Saturday, February 7.
