Kemi Olunloyo Suggests Spiritual Angle in Ifunanya’s Death, Questions Singer’s Possible Link to Snakes

Controversial commentator Kemi Olunloyo has raised new questions regarding the death of singer Ifunanya Nwangene, proposing a possible spiritual or personal connection between the late artist and snakes.

In a video statement, Olunloyo described the circumstances of Ifunanya’s death as “strange and unresolved,” pointing to the presence of two cobras in her apartment and a subsequent discovery of a snake in the ambulance that later transported her body.

While acknowledging that snake bites are not typically treated as criminal matters in Nigeria, Olunloyo argued the case warrants deeper scrutiny from both investigative and spiritual perspectives. She referenced cultural, religious, and mythological associations of snakes—including Biblical symbolism, the figure of Medusa, and Indian snake charmers—to suggest snakes are often linked to spirituality and music.

Olunloyo speculated whether Ifunanya may have had an association with snakes, including possibly keeping them as pets, but clarified these were illustrative theories rather than confirmed facts.

“Could she have a relationship with snakes? Did she have snake pets? Nobody knows,” Olunloyo said, while also noting the informal tone of Ifunanya’s final WhatsApp message about the bite.

She emphasized that her comments were speculative and intended to provoke thought, concluding with a call for broader awareness of spiritual dimensions in such unusual events. Olunloyo ended her remarks by offering prayers for the late singer’s soul.
