NDLEA Warns Public as Drug Traffickers Hide Meth in Yogurt Packs, MP3 Players

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has uncovered a new tactic by drug traffickers to smuggle methamphetamine by concealing the substance inside everyday consumer goods such as Hollandia yogurt packs and MP3 players.

In a public alert issued on Sunday via social media, the agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, shared video evidence showing how the illicit drug was ingeniously hidden within the packaging of these common items.

Babafemi described the methods as part of emerging "narco-trends" and urged law-abiding citizens to exercise caution, especially while traveling. He advised the public to avoid accepting parcels or luggage from unknown individuals, whether for domestic or international trips.

The NDLEA’s warning highlights the increasingly creative and deceptive strategies employed by traffickers to evade detection. The agency continues to intensify operations and public sensitization to combat drug smuggling and protect unsuspecting individuals from being used as carriers.
