Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu welcomed renowned American streamer and internet personality Kai Cenat to the Lagos House, Marina, on Wednesday, in a meeting highlighting the growing intersection between digital influence and social initiatives.
The governor’s Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Jubril A. Gawat, shared the news on X (formerly Twitter), noting that Cenat—on his second visit to Lagos—discussed his experiences in the city and outlined plans for upcoming projects.
“Kai Cenat is in Lagos to follow up on some projects and initiatives he plans to execute for kids and young people in Lagos State, Nigeria,” Gawat stated.
Cenat, one of the world’s most-followed live streamers on platforms like Twitch and YouTube, commands a vast global audience, particularly among youth. His visit follows a recent trip to Lagos by fellow American streamer IShowSpeed, which also attracted significant online attention and public engagement.
While officials did not disclose specific details of Cenat’s agenda or the nature of the planned projects, the meeting signals Lagos’s continuing appeal as a destination for international digital creators and its openness to partnerships aimed at youth development.
