Lagos Police Identify Officers Involved in Alleged Assault on Actor Ijoba Lande

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that officers implicated in an alleged attack on actor and content creator Ijoba Lande have been identified and are under investigation.

Lande, who recently returned from the United Kingdom, raised the alarm on social media after he and a friend were reportedly assaulted by police officers. He claimed the incident resulted in injuries, the seizure of his iPhone 16 Pro Max, and $1,200 belonging to his brother. In a video shared online, Lande appeared with visible blood on his face and shirt, describing the encounter as life-threatening.

Following online attention, the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, stated that the officers involved have been brought in for questioning. She confirmed that statements are being taken from both the officers and Lande and his friend.

“The officers involved have been identified and brought forward to the Command for investigation. At the moment, both the officers, the actor, and his friend are giving their statements. Further developments will be communicated accordingly,” Adebisi said.

The police have yet to provide details on the circumstances leading to the alleged assault. The investigation remains ongoing.
