A man identified as Zakariah Mohammed has been arrested for allegedly selling hard drugs to customers at a hotel in Lagos State.
The incident occurred in the early hours of January 13, 2026, at the Lyta Signature Hotel located in the Gowon Estate, Egbeda area of Alimosho. According to police reports, Mohammed and two accomplices—who remain at large—were conducting illicit drug sales on the premises when authorities from the Gowon Estate Division were alerted.

The charge stated that Mohammed sold substances suspected to be hard drugs within the hotel premises. He pleaded not guilty to the allegations.
The prosecutor, Supol Josephine Ihkayere, requested a trial date to present evidence against the defendant. Magistrate L.A. Owolabi granted Mohammed bail with two sureties, who must provide proof of livelihood and tax payment, subject to verification by the court.
The case has been adjourned for mention, and the defendant was remanded at the Kirikiri correctional facility pending the fulfillment of his bail conditions.
