Trump Once Warned Police About Epstein, Called Ghislaine Maxwell “Evil,” Newly Released Records Show

Newly released U.S. Justice Department records indicate that President Donald Trump privately warned Florida law enforcement about financier Jeffrey Epstein nearly two decades ago, describing him as “disgusting” and identifying Ghislaine Maxwell as a central figure in his activities.

The disclosure comes from an FBI interview summary dated October 2019, in which a former Palm Beach police chief recounted a phone call he said he received from Trump in 2006, shortly after Epstein became the subject of a local criminal investigation.

FBI Document Details 2006 Call to Police Chief

According to the document, Trump contacted the then–Palm Beach police chief to express support for the investigation into Epstein, telling him that people in New York had long been aware of Epstein’s behavior. Trump reportedly said he was relieved authorities were taking action.

In the same conversation, Trump allegedly urged investigators to focus attention on Epstein’s close associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, referring to her as Epstein’s “operative” and describing her as “evil,” the summary states.

The FBI record, known as a “302,” does not name the former police chief directly, but identifies him as the individual who led the Palm Beach Police Department at the time. The retired official later confirmed he was the person referenced in the document.

Trump Said Epstein Was Banned From Mar-a-Lago

The summary also notes that Trump told the police chief he had previously barred Epstein from his private club, Mar-a-Lago, after encountering him in the presence of teenage girls. Trump reportedly said he immediately distanced himself from Epstein after that incident.

Investigators recorded that Trump was among the earliest individuals to contact local authorities once news of the Epstein investigation became public.

Trump has not been accused of any criminal wrongdoing in connection with Epstein.
