Verydarkman Blasts Cubana Chief Priest Over Tinubu Support: "If Nnamdi Kanu Isn't Released By February, You're a Snake"

Social media critic and activist Verydarkman has launched a blistering attack on nightlife entrepreneur Cubana Chief Priest, accusing him of betraying the Igbo community and exploiting the detained IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu for personal political relevance.

In a viral video that has since ignited fierce online debate, Verydarkman directly addressed Chief Priest's recent defection to President Bola Tinubu's re-election camp—a move that has seen the socialite appointed as a director of the City Boy Movement in Imo State.

"You Used Your People for Clout"

"You used it to get a lot of clout so that your people will think you're fighting for them. Now the agenda is already clear," Verydarkman charged. "Nnamdi Kanu is still in prison."

He reminded Chief Priest of his earlier warning to the presidency—that Tinubu would not secure 10,000 votes in the South-East unless Kanu was released from detention. That warning, issued just three months ago, now stands in stark contrast to Chief Priest's active mobilization for the APC.

"That ten thousand votes you said they won't get if Nnamdi Kanu is not outside—you're now helping them with the City Boy Movement. You want to gather it from your people. You want to use your small, little influence to get it."

"I Can't Respect You Anymore"

The activist, known for his unflinching critiques of public figures, did not mask his disdain.

"I can't respect you anymore, to be very honest. The only thing you can tell me now, Cubana Chief Priest, is that by the end of February, Nnamdi Kanu will come out."

He issued a stark ultimatum, framing the socialite's political alignment as a test of credibility.

"If Nnamdi Kanu does not come out by the end of February, you're a snake and a terrible person. If he doesn't come out, you're just a typical user that was using his people."

Context and Consequences

The attack follows a week of heightened tension around Igbo political elites and their positioning ahead of 2027. Cubana Chief Priest, alongside fellow billionaires Obi Cubana, Zenco, and Enviable, has faced mounting criticism for publicly aligning with Tinubu's re-election project while Kanu remains in detention at the Sokoto custodial centre following his 2025 terrorism conviction.

The socialite has defended his choice, arguing it is "better to fight from inside" and that proximity to power offers more strategic advantage than opposition. Verydarkman's intervention suggests that argument is gaining little traction among grassroots activists and Kanu loyalists.

As of press time, Cubana Chief Priest had not issued a direct response to Verydarkman's remarks. The February deadline now looms as a litmus test—not just for one man's political credibility, but for the enduring promise that elite access can translate into tangible freedom for the region's most prominent detainee.
