Boxing champion Tyson Fury has shared a heartfelt tribute following the deaths of two close friends and team members of fellow boxer Anthony Joshua. The two men—strength and conditioning coach Sina Ghami and personal trainer Kevin “Latif” Ayodele—were killed in a car crash in Nigeria on Monday.
Fury, known as the “Gypsy King,” posted a commemorative image on Instagram with the message: “This is so sad. May God give them a good bed in heaven.” He added a reflection on life’s fragility, writing, “There is no tomorrow. Live, love, and give.”
The accident occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway when the Lexus SUV Joshua was traveling in collided with a stationary truck. Preliminary reports indicate speeding and an improper overtaking maneuver as likely causes.
Joshua, who sustained injuries in the crash, remains under medical observation in a Lagos hospital. While initial reports described his injuries as minor, concerns about possible internal damage have since emerged.
The tragedy has drawn condolences from around the world, including from Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who assured that Joshua is receiving appropriate medical care. The boxing community continues to mourn the loss of Ghami and Ayodele while supporting Joshua’s recovery.
