Kidnaping & Banditry: Nigerian Army Intercepts Kingpin’s Wife, Unearths Secret Arms Cache in Taraba

Troops from the Nigerian Army’s Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have intercepted the wife of a wanted criminal kingpin in Taraba State and uncovered a hidden armoury containing a significant weapons stockpile.

Acting on intelligence, soldiers set up a roadblock in Zaki-Biam and intercepted the woman, who was reportedly traveling from Amadu village to Gboko. She later led troops to a concealed hideout in Amadu village, where a large cache of arms was discovered.

Recovered Arms:
* 13 AK-47 rifles
* 38 magazines
* 690 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition
* 4 hand grenades

The military destroyed the hideout on-site to prevent its reuse by criminal elements. Authorities reported that all troops returned safely and that the area remains calm with ongoing confidence-building patrols.

This operation marks a significant blow to armed networks in the Taraba region, often affected by banditry and inter-communal violence.
