Former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola recently shared a humorous personal story about the moment he decided to stop shopping for his wife’s clothing.
In an interview on The Morayo Show, Fashola recalled a trip to the United Kingdom with his family where his wife, Dame Abimbola Fashola, asked him to accompany a friend’s wife to a store to buy underwear for her.
Fashola admitted he was quickly overwhelmed upon entering the store. “I had never seen so much female underwear in my life,” he said with amusement, explaining that the sheer variety and displays prompted him to walk out and wait outside.
That experience, he noted, was the last time he attempted to choose clothing for his wife. Since then, whenever he wishes to give her a gift, he simply provides the funds for her to select what she prefers.
The light-hearted anecdote offered a relatable glimpse into the former governor’s domestic life and his practical solution to avoid future lingerie shopping dilemmas.
