Soldiers from the 12 Brigade of the Nigerian Army have raided and destroyed a terrorist camp in Kogi State, seizing a cache of weapons and ammunition.
The operation, conducted under "Operation Igbo Idanu I," targeted a hideout linked to suspected terrorist figures Kachalla Ibrahim and Shu’aibu. Troops navigated dense forest and difficult terrain to approach the camp, ultimately advancing on foot to achieve tactical surprise.
Although the insurgents fled before engagement, a search of the site led to significant recoveries, including eight boxes of linked ammunition and one box of high-velocity grenades.
The army stated that the operation has "significantly degraded" the terrorists' capabilities. After clearing the camp, troops systematically destroyed it to prevent reoccupation and have continued patrols in the area to disrupt any regrouping efforts.
The operation reaffirms the military's commitment to dismantling terrorist networks and enhancing security in the region.
