Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has extended warm congratulations to former Deputy Governor Princess Sarah Adebisi Sosan on her 70th birthday, celebrating her as a dedicated public servant whose contributions to the state span more than three decades.
In a personally signed message on behalf of his wife, family, the Lagos State Government, the Governance Advisory Council, and APC leaders and members, Governor Sanwo-Olu paid tribute to Sosan's quiet but transformative impact on Lagos.
A Lifetime of Service Before High Office
While Princess Sosan is widely recognised for her tenure as deputy governor from 2007 to 2011, Governor Sanwo-Olu noted that her legacy in public service began years earlier. She spent over two decades in the Ministry of Education as a teacher, administrator, and board member—shaping young minds and strengthening the state's education system with consistency and humility.
"Her journey started long before she stepped into higher office," the Governor stated. "She gave over 20 years to shaping our education sector quietly and effectively, helping to build the foundation many Lagosians stand on today."
**Loyalty to Progressive Ideals**
Governor Sanwo-Olu also praised Sosan's steadfast commitment to progressive politics, tracing her active involvement from the early days of the movement through to the formation of the All Progressives Congress.
"She has remained loyal and active at every level—from the ward to the national stage. She shows up, she contributes, and she stands by her convictions," the Governor said.
A Well-Earned Milestone
Describing the former deputy governor as one who has now joined "a special league" of distinguished stateswomen, Governor Sanwo-Olu offered prayers for her continued well-being.
"I pray that God grants her good health, renewed strength, and many more years of impact," he added.
Princess Sosan's career remains a reference point for female political leadership and administrative excellence in Lagos State.
