Kaduna to Launch $200 Million Integrated Poultry Project, Expected to Create Over 350,000 Jobs

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has announced the commencement of a landmark $200 million integrated poultry development project, which is projected to generate more than $450 million in annual revenue and create over 350,000 direct and indirect jobs.

The governor made the announcement during a meeting with the Minister of Livestock Development, Idi Maiha, on Thursday, following a successful agreement finalized with Chinese investors during his visit to Beijing in December 2025.

Project Details and Economic Impact

Governor Sani stated that the model poultry project is designed to transform Kaduna into a leading agribusiness hub. It is expected to significantly boost food security, create substantial employment opportunities, and stimulate economic growth across the state.

“The $200 million poultry project, in partnership with Chinese investors, is expected to boost food security, create jobs, and establish Kaduna as a leading agribusiness hub,” Sani said.

During his visit to China, the governor toured CP Foods Layers and Eggs Ltd, a facility that produces nearly three million eggs daily. He described the experience as “a defining stride toward concluding the poultry project in Kaduna,” highlighting the advanced production, processing, packaging, and distribution systems that exemplify modern agricultural craftsmanship.

Federal Collaboration and Next Steps

Governor Sani thanked President Bola Tinubu for selecting Kaduna to pilot the initiative and emphasized that the meeting with the livestock minister was crucial for aligning federal and state efforts ahead of the project’s official groundbreaking.

The commencement of this project marks a significant step in Kaduna’s agricultural industrialization agenda and reflects growing Sino-Nigerian investment partnerships in Nigeria's agribusiness sector.
